Ten Swords To Die For is Not Dead Yet!

Okay, several fans have already asked what is going on with the release of 10 Swords to Die For. Well it must be said that much of our support staff (and you know who you are) has left to pursue other vocations in the past few months and this has left us looking for a new support team (feel free to check out our submissions page).

Because we have committed ourselves to the Shroud of the Ancients D5 Roleplaying Game, we have had to put any other 3.5 compatible products on hiatus for the time being. But, following the release of Duet in Denway, the final chapter in the Vale of Fear Campaign series, 10 Swords to Die For is our next non-D5 project.

framework to build on, we are building the machine from the ground up. The simple concept of how your character hits another creature and how they defend from such an attack has to be worked out. Not to mention, gaming concepts such as advancement, growth, success and failure all have to be coherent, consistent and playable."

With all this talk about mechanics, readers might think that it's all about the "crunchy bits", but Roderick say no. "Anyone who has sat down at one of our con adventures (Twist of Faith, Interest of Conflicts) or played one of our 3.5 compatible adventures knows that we have a great fantasy game setting. We have worked hard to make a realistic world where functional magic, believable races and fantastical foes could exist."

While we must wait for the game to be released next year, here is a sneak peek at the some the artwork that will most likely be featured in the new book.

Sneak Peek at The Player's Guide to Terrath

November 26th, 2009  -  Writing continues on the Shroud of the Ancients Roleplaying Game. The first book, The Player's Guide to Terrath is "about 80 percent done" says Vice President, Roderick Edwards. "Everything is coming together. We have beautiful artwork coming in from Albert Debnam, as well a couple of other freelancers, and the text itself is being hammered away by (Randy Miller, President) while I am working on some of the editing and the getting the website up and running."

While fans were expecting an end of year release, Roderick says that a summer release is more likely. "The reality is that Randy and I just do not want to rush a product to the market before its ready. It's the right way to do business and our fans deserve a quality book."

Gamers often wonder why the process from concept to publication can take so long and what is involved. "There are many steps in the process of designing a new role playing game from scratch. Unlike our 3.5 compatible adventures (Terror in Twinleaf, Ram's Kettle is Boiling, etc), which had a mechanical
The Map of Terrath is Unveiled

March 7th, 2010 - As you can see, Chris Strecker has done it again. This time he has successfully captured a world that has survived great upheaval. All the states in the Free City States are listed as well as the provinces in the Empire.  As the world is explored more deeply by the characters, more details will be fleshed out for the players. In the meantime bask in its glory.

The Perfect Equipment List

As work continues on the Adventurer's Guide to Terrath, we decided that we wanted the perfect equipment list. Now, that doesn't mean that it is going to be all inclusive or have tons of exotic equipment, but it has to represent everything an adventurer might need and some of the unusual items from the world of Terrath. As we have discussed in forums and at the conventions, there will be no magic items available at your local magic shop. That's just not how magic works in the world of Terrath. All magic has a purpose. Other game systems assume that there is a local mage who has nothing better to do with his time than sit in his shop cranking out stuff for PCs to buy. On the other hand, you may find an apothecary with an elixir or two. In the meantime, sojourn to the very cool Adventure Gamers website for more RenFair pics like the one below.
